I was in mourning of my non-functioning of my oven but applied the stoic motto of “stuff happens, get over it” and figured I’d try to make due with the toaster oven. I prepared an 8″ x 8″ brownie pan and wedged it into the toaster oven and waiting.
1) The temperature knob should be replaced with “Cold” – “Warm” – “Hot” as the numbers are strictly guidelines.
2) Toaster ovens need a bit more thermal heft. Should this become the norm I’ll need to find a way to glue a brick to it.
3) No matter how acceptable the top of a brownie prepared in a toaster oven looks, the surface merely hides a roiling mass of heartache and let down. :-(
